The Chameleon Caving Suit is a lighter-weight suit ideal for caving in temperature ranges of 50-59F (10-15C) without extra underlayers. Of course, different people have different insulation needs, so It's designed with a relaxed fit to allow for adding extra insulation to adapt to cooler environments; we've been quite comfy in caves down to 40F/5C by adding polypropylene or fleece layers underneath. We haven't tested in warmer caves yet; with the sleeves retracted, it might be appropriate for warmer than 59F/15C, but this may vary based on the individual.
Also worth noting is that the suits are unlined, and thus not intended to be waterproof; while the material is all quick-drying synthetic, they aren't designed to keep you dry in extremely wet environments. (We hope to produce suits appropriate for those conditions in the future.)
Unlike most other cave suits we've encountered, we use a mix of different materials to achieve this lighter weight; the orange and gray sections are a high-quality nylon (with 3% spandex for improved fit and movement), while the black areas are 1000d Cordura for durability in high-abrasion areas. Our testing has shown this to be an excellent compromise of comfort and durability; we specifically tested in lava tubes (notorious for being gear destroyers!) and found our testers quite happy with the results.
